Preamble:

 

HEEP Group has been established to provide right opportunities to the youths and women, who have the potential to play a vital/pivotal role in the positive transformation and development of the society, empower them as per the demand of time and make them realize the major responsibility of nation building.

 

This constitution has been written for the effective management and operation of this organization with a noble mission. ‘Youths are not just the future of tomorrow but are also the partners of today’ – with this belief, the programs of this organization will be directed towards fulfilling the expectation of the nation from the youths in the development process of the country.

 

Accordingly, HEEP Group has been established to provide just opportunities to the enthusiastic, hard working and ambitious feelings of the youths & women and hence bring them into the main stream of nation development.

 

Article 1

 

1.  Introduction:

 

Name of the organization will be ‘HEEP GROUP – HEEP being an acronym for Health, Education, Environmental awareness and management and Poverty eradication.’  HEEP Group’s base is Kitengela Township with ultimate goal of forming partnerships and replicating the same first countrywide, then regionally.

 

The Group will operate as a Community Based Organization with no personal financial benefit accruing to members.

   

The business of the Group will be unbiased in respect of race, religion, gender, politics, and physical or mental ability.

 

This constitution will come into effect soon after the registration.

 

The group will not have any political affiliation.

 

2. Interpretation:

 

Except under special circumstances and references,

a.    The word ‘organization’ refers to HEEP Group

b.    ‘Constitution’ means the constitution of HEEP Group.

c.    ‘Rule’ refers to the rules passed by the Executive Committee under section 27 [interpretation] of this constitution; also it indicates other sub-rules and procedures.

d.    ‘Executive Committee Member’ refers to the Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary, Vice Secretary and a member of the Executive Committee formed in accordance with this constitution.

e.    ‘Local Authority’ refers to the Area Chief and District Officer

 

 

3. Logo:

 

The logo and emblem of this organization will be a pictorial representation of the areas HEEP Group plans to address.

 

 

4. Office:

 

The central office of the organization will be in Kitengela Township.   Branches can be opened in other districts - franchise.  The franchise will be authorized by the HEEP Group [Kitengela] Executive Committee on a case by case basis.

 

 

 Article 2:  Objectives of the Organization

 

5. Objectives:

 

The objectives of the organization will be as follows:

a.    To create awareness on tree management and plant  trees every year within Kitengela township and its environs

b.    To empower the community financial by equipping youths with job searching techniques and life skills every year

c.    To create awareness on hiv / aids and promote behavioural change communication every quarter

d.    Develop business skills for youths and women to better manage their businesses every year

e.    To reduce poverty levels among women and youth by 5% within one year through income generating opportunity creation

f.     Creating reliable business linkages for members pursuing entrepreneurial activities

g.    Enhance member general welfare, self esteem and boost their confidence

h.    Link entrepreneurs to affordable financing to facilitate business growth

i.      Promote a savings culture among members

j.     To attract, recruit and retain at productive committed members

k.    To drill a borehole to serve as a watering point
